Day 3!
Yikes, feels a bit like someone beat my legs this morning! A lot of muscle pain and a bit of joint pain...likely from chasing 3 kids in the park yesterday to get rid of their extra energy and residual muscle aches from pilates on Friday.
Typically that kind of activity doesn't bother me, but today this is tough! The good news is there is no headache!! As I informed those that attended the detox, a headache from restricting caffiene typically won't last more than two days.
The liver does a significant amount of filtering in the body, phase one and phase two detoxification. Most of us are fairly good at phase one, however less efficient at phase two. During a cleanse, if phase one is racing along and phase two is a bit slower, the more concentrated product of phase one floats around and causes the increase in brain fog, muscle aches, etc. For this reason, I used the Advaclear product researched and manufactured by Metagenics. Advaclear slows phase one and essentially speeds up phase two to aid in eliminating the flu like symptoms associated with detoxification.
So why didn't I take this on day 1? I hoped to avoid these flu-like symptoms, however if I didn't, I would be able to better relate to what my patients may feel. However after the headache yesterday and the sensation of beaten legs today, I will continue to take it 1 tab/3x day at least until the detox is over, but likely until the bottle is gone.
Remember water is incredibly important in transporting the wastes out of your body, so continue to sip all day long and get minimally one half your body weight in ounces of water daily.
THE SOLUTION TO POLLUTION IS DILUTION....so grab the water.
Moving on:
Breakfast:
UltraInflamX orange with a cup of frozen blueberries
A bit of lentil soup (really did love this)
herbal tea
dynamic greens + scoop fibroplex
no snack
Lunch:
leftover mashed cauliflower
sauteed mushrooms
grapes
Snack:
apple
Dinner:
Smashed Yukon potatoes
quinoa salad
orange pepper
Snack:
UltraInflamX
1 cup frozen blueberries
Water and herbal tea
There was dinner at church today, I didn't partake, even though the 14 different kinds of pie looked good, I felt better knowing I wouldn't have to tell all you that I cheated!
So I ate upon returning home.
Many have wondered if I continue to cook for my family while on a detox and the answer is yes! Typically I try to cook something for myself that I can use as a side dish for them. Tonight I made them roasted turkey and smashed yukon potatoes with gravy and cooked carrots. I ate the potatoes because I didn't use dairy to mash them. I did add a bit of olive oil and seasoning. I also put the quinoa salad on the table, which my husband enjoyed.
If I can't eat anything I am making for them, I tend to eat my meal before or while I am preparing theirs. This helps me maintain some self control. Then I do try to sit with them...because with 4 boys at the table there are always some manners to mind or spills to clean up but also because we pray together and spend time together at the table.
Review:
Today, down a pound, even though I am not using this as a weight loss program, this is normal effect from my detox.
Feeling less bloated.
Pants fit better :)
As I write, no leg pain, no headache!
Tomorrow should be a much better day! Have packed most of my fruits and vegetables for my lunch plus potatoes to warm up!
W.
