Who
doesn’t love food? I enjoy the process of growing a garden, canning
the produce, shopping for ingredients, planning menus, cooking food,
tasting new recipes, talking about it…you get the point, I am a
“foodie”.
Enjoyment
of this process enables me to keep my family well with balanced meals
and healthful, tasty, home cooking. (My kids are normal kids… they
would often choose McD’s over dinner at home). Obviously not everyone
is a foodie, enjoying the process, but easy steps to food prep may help
you avoid the expensive drive through dinner and high fat that goes with
processed meals.
The
next trip to the grocery store, buy additional lean protein (enough for
2-3 additional meals) and cook it at the same time as the meal you are
prepping, package and freeze into appropriate portions. I find if my
protein is ready to go, adding a salad or steamed veggie makes meals a
snap.
